Nonfiction Books by Mormons
By the LDS cryptozoology author Jonathan David Whitcomb
Brother Whitcomb is perhaps
the *only LDS cryptozoologist
to search for living pterosaurs
and interview eyewitnesses of
these amazing flying creatures
(*at least as of early 2017) but
this may gradually be changing.
Nonfiction - Really!

The Book of Mormon for
Latter-Day Saint Families
(Review by Amazon Purchaser)
“Not inexpensive, but my kids
(ages 4-8) have enjoyed the
extra pictures. I, personally,
like the additional quotes &
thought-provoking questions.
Each chapter is broken into
bite-sized sections with bold
headings --- that helps with
reading to those with shorter
attention spans. Good for a bit
of daily reading to build the
habit & learn the stories, but
they don't get bored like they
might if we were powering
through whole chapters. . . .”
A Future as Bright as Your Faith
“President Thomas S. Monson
reminds us that we can have hope
and happiness in whatever circum-
stances we face. Containing 365
quotations and accompanying
scriptures for daily reading, this
small, carry-along book will fit in
a purse, briefcase, or backpack.”
From a reader review: “Simply,
this man is a prophet of God. An
experienced leader in the highest
councils of the church for decades
. . . scores [of years] . . . a great
story teller . . . much wisdom in
a lifetime of experiences…”
By Greg Olsen
“A warm celebration of womanhood,
Heaven's Touch combines touching
paintings by Greg Olsen with inspir-
ed and eloquent words from Apostles,
prophets, and other LDS leaders . . .”
This cryptozoology book, now in its fourth edition,
has been called the “Bible of modern pterosaurs.”
Searching for Ropens and Finding God
It certainly sounds like a book on religion, and it can strengthen
faith in readers who already have some faith in God. Yet this non-
fiction is mostly about cryptozoology, in particular eyewitness
accounts of featherless flying creatures that the author is sure
are non-extinct pterosaurs.
So how do modern “pterodactyls” or “flying dinosaurs” relate to
religion? Almost all of the principal investigators and explorers
have been devoted Christians who see a connection between the
existence of modern pterosaurs and some of the historical records
found in the Old Testament.
Jonathan Whitcomb, the author of Searching for Ropens and
Finding God, is the only LDS explorer who has actively searched
for modern pterosaurs in Papua New Guinea and also in North
America. Over a period of 14 years, he has spent over 10,000
hours in his investigation of these amazing flying creatures,
receiving eyewitness reports from five continents. In addition,
he has written a peer-reviewed scientific paper: “Reports of
Living Pterosaurs in the Southwest Pacific.”
